Dr Kay is recovering from her recent surgery

Dr Kay recently had surgery for a much-needed overdue repair on her hand. As a result, Dr Kay will be off work for a few months (if we can keep her out of the clinic) but we have been fortunate enough to gain the services of Dr Sarah who comes highly recommended to us.

Dr Sarah graduated from Murdoch University in 1994, alongside Robyn and Marta. She was determined to be a vet from a young age, accompanying her agriculture vet dad at his work as often as allowed. Growing up in WA's southwest allowed for a mix of pets, including dogs, cats, fish, mice and the hobby farm assortment of cattle, sheep and poultry.

Dr Sarah has had a varied career, from mixed country practice, small animal GP, emergency and critical care and most recently working in oncology. Outside of work hiking, camping, roller skating and the beach are favourite pastimes, with two bouncy Dalmatian's (Wally and Spotty Underpants) and Sooty the cat vying for her affections.

From all the team here at Bicton Veterinary Clinic, we would like to wish Dr Kay a speedy recovery and look forward to her being back here at work.

And for those who are wondering about Dr Kay's youngest child, Rhys could not be outdone by his mum and broke his thumb a few days later in sympathy
